Alicja Kwade’s series of works for Monopol plays with the concept of measuring time: “721 hours”, the title of the entire series, comprises 20 framed assemblages with different numbers of clock hands. Each hand stands for one hour. The sum of all the hands is 721 – exactly the number of hours in a month, from twelve o’clock to twelve o’clock.

The hands pose riddles about the countability of life. Notations written in pencil add an additional layer. Each unique piece in the series costs 3000 euros including VAT.

Temporary prohibition on resale.
