Avant Arte has announced an eagerly awaited new sculpture edition in collaboration with artist Ai Weiwei, uniting ancient craftsmanship with modern iconography.<\/p>\n

Together, they will release Coloured Vase, 2025<\/em> \u2013 five time-limited sculpture editions available exclusively on avantarte.com<\/a> for just seven days, starting on 28 August 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

As a continuation of the iconic Glass Vase<\/em> from 2023, this new edition comes in five colourways \u2013 red, blue, green, silver, and gold. Each metal vase is highly polished, nickel-plated, and finished with a tinted lacquer to achieve its final colour and texture. The production process was developed in close collaboration with the artist, using an intricate metal spinning technique carried out by skilled artisans.<\/p>\n

The sculpture measures 21 cm in height, 23 cm in length, and 23 cm in width. Each piece features an engraved signature and edition number on its base. The seven-day acquisition window opens at 2 PM BST on 28 August 2025<\/strong> via avantarte.com<\/a>. This series marks Ai Weiwei\u2019s latest confrontation between Western consumer culture and Chinese artisanal tradition \u2013 a continuation of his Duchamp-inspired \u201cReadymades.\u201d The artist has repeatedly integrated ancient Chinese pottery into his provocative work, most notably in 1995 when he deliberately smashed a valuable Han Dynasty urn in a performance piece. He has similarly transformed ceramic sculptures by adorning them with logos that symbolize contemporary capitalism.<\/p>\n
